| Consignment
Distribution |
The Consignment Distribution
Optional Module is for publishers who sell other publishers'
products on consignment. The module automates costing, accounts
payable, inventory management and reporting associated with
distribution. |
| Credit
Card |
The Credit Card Optional Module
enables users to process customer credit card payments from
within the ACUMEN program. Communication with your bank's credit
card network takes place through ACUMEN with the help of an
internet-based authorization service or third-party software
and a modem. |
| eCommerce
Interchange |
The eCommerce Interchange Optional
Module is a suite of functions that enables ACUMEN to communicate
with any number of web sites to supply updated product information,
receive and process web orders, synchronize the maintenance
of customer data, and automatically email order and shipment
confirmations to customers. |
| EDI Interchange |
The Electronic Data Interchange
(EDI) Optional Module works with 3rd party EDI software to electronically
exchange information (invoices, purchase orders, bills of lading)
between ACUMEN and EDI trading partners. |
| eMail List Management |
Email is an expanding and cost-effective tool for mass marketing and business
communications. The eMail List Management Optional Module makes it possible to send email
to large group lists from within ACUMEN. Features include automatic subscribe and unsubscribe, HTML images and formatting and open rate and click through tracking. |
| Foreign
Currency |
The Foreign Currency
Optional module enables ACUMEN users to handle orders
and billing in an unlimited number of currencies.
This improves the ability of publishers to sell
outside of their domestic market. A VAT (Value Added
Tax) Module is also available. |
| Fulfillment
Import |
Many publishers out-source their
sales and/or fulfillment for a particular geographic region
to a Consignment Distributor. The Fulfillment Import Optional
Modules enables publishers to import this sales data electronically
into ACUMEN, preserving valuable sales history information and
enabling direct marketing to customers. |
| Point
of Sale & Conferencing |
The Point of Sale (POS) & Conferencing Optional
Module enables publishers to manage their main publishing operation
and company-owned retail outlets out of the same ACUMEN database.
The POS system can handle an unlimited number of retail outlets
with up to 3 workstations (registers) per location. |
| Remote
Fulfillment |
The Remote Fulfillment Optional
Module is designed for ACUMEN users who take orders and invoice
them in ACUMEN, but who have an outside fulfillment service
that does the actual distribution. The module enables the publisher
and fulfillment service to electronically synchronize data,
lowering costs and increasing accuracy and efficiency. |
| Subscriptions |
The Subscriptions Optional Module
enables publishers to sell periodicals and journals
with the same ease as books and other products.

| Zip Quick |
With Zip Quick, data entry is more efficient and addresses are more accurate. The Zip Quick module
enables ACUMEN to automatically load USPS-approved City and State values based on the zip code that
is entered in Customer, Location, Rep, Vendor, Author, and Personal Contact records.
The maintenance program includes quarterly zip code updates.
